Well, 2024 is upon us now, I have finally seen the Doctors & the physio at the local practice together and they are treating my shoulders as muscle damage. We knew just before Christmas that this was the case but to have the Doctor and physio now agree in person & start the correct treatment is a milestone to me. I have a small tear in my left arm which they now say will not need surgery, which is a relief. I had a steroid injection in my right arm, this happened the first week of January and it has helped no end, the pain is less & I can now spray deodorant under my right arm without tears in my eye.
I have had my first Physio appointment, which went well but it is going to be a lot of hard work to get back to the strength I had before. The exercises are simple however I am finding them difficult. I still have limited movement in my right arm, and it is unclear if that is down to the Cavernoma in my head.
Nighttime is still a lottery and I have to take a lot of pain killers to help sleep but this has definitely improved which is good, I don’t wake Sue up so much.
Monday, I had the filter to stop blood clots taken out of my leg, via my neck!! Never expected that at all, it was a very strange feeling. They numbed my neck where they inserted the retrieving device, but I could feel everything else. There was a lot of pushing and pressure but I couldn't see what was going on due to a blue sheet being covering me as a makeshift tent. It took under an hour and I am now relieved to be stopping the blood thinners.
Next on the list is the Neurosurgeon, we have been told we will get a date in February, I am concerned that this will be a date given in February for later in the year. I still suffer from headaches, and they are worse after exercise & got quite bad during my Physio appointment. The intensity is increasing and they affect my eye.
We are going to contact the GP to see what he advises, as its becoming more of an issue.
It has been great to see many friends popping in to see how I am doing and offering us both support, you will never know how much that means to both of us.
2024 is going to be an awesome year so bring it on!
